Video highlights how frontline transformation can be ‘Just the Ticket’ for local authorities

The latest video in the ‘Promoting Excellence’ series from the Association of Public Service Excellence and ITN Productions emphasises the benefits of a multi-functional workforce as local authorities look to secure alternative funding solutions while also improving service standards and efficiencies.  The ‘More than just the Ticket’ video is introduced by national newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky and features the work of leading outsource service provider NSL.

The 4½ minute production sees renowned reporter, Joanna Simpson, travelling to Warwickshire to see how NSL Civil Enforcement Officers are generating goodwill within local areas and offering much more than ‘just the ticket’ in their frontline support for local communities. It highlights how NSL is working with Warwickshire County Council and other local authorities to help them think differently about their frontline services and to understand the new opportunities for revenue generation.

The video shows the positive outcomes derived from this progressive approach, where NSL’s frontline officers are the eyes and the ears of the local community. As well as interviews with NSL’s Chief Executive, Adam Palser, and Warwickshire County Council’s Chief Executive, Jim Graham, the production also features an interview with NSL Civil Enforcement Officer, Ian Savage, to show the practical benefits of such partnerships for everyone involved.

Adam Palser, Chief Executive of NSL said: “The challenges of austerity are not likely to subside any time soon, so it’s essential for Councils to make the most of their frontline resources.  In effect, they will have to do a lot more with a lot less. We are working with local authorities – and harnessing new technologies – to capitalise on those frontline services that offer an invaluable and reassuring presence right out in the heart of local communities.   In this way, our frontline teams become service ambassadors of a local authority, offering a dynamic and responsive point of interaction for local businesses and local residents.
