With nearly 15 years of experience in environmental and neighbourhood roles in local government, Philip Pughe has now joined NSL as Account Director of its rapidly expanding Neighbourhoods Service. His appointment will help to consolidate the company’s position as the principal provider of dedicated neighbourhood support services which has helped to generate a surplus of over £224million for NSL’s local authority partners over the past 12 months.
“Phil’s experience will add further impetus to our neighbourhood operations at a time when more and more of our local authority clients are looking to harness the benefits this highly visible and responsive frontline service,” says Mark Hoskin, NSL’s Executive Director for Local Government. “The outstanding outcomes from our dedicated approach to neighbourhood support and environmental management have not only provided financial efficiencies for Councils but also helped to maximise community engagement. Phil’s insight will be invaluable as we look to build on such successes and introduce other local authorities to the benefits of our multi-disciplinary service model.”
NSL’s Neighbourhoods Service covers everything from environmental enforcement, highways inspections, waste management services and helping to manage antisocial behaviour to licensing checks and assistance with debt collection. Significantly, the service also provides a highly visible and reassuring presence in the heart of local communities, with patrolling and uniformed officers acting as the eyes and ears – as well as ambassadors – of the Council as well as providing helpful support and advice for the general public.
Formerly Neighbourhoods Manager and Environment Contracts Manager at the London Borough of Waltham Forest, Philip Pughe was previously Environment Contracts Manager at Medway Council and Waste and Recycling Officer at The London Borough of Bexley.
