Staff at NSL, which specialises in delivering public services, have held a series of coffee mornings and undergone fun runs to raise money for Macmillan, the charity that supports people with cancer and their families.
Parking wardens in regions throughout the UK took part, including Manchester, which raised £553.50; Oldham raised £83; Tameside raised £95; High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire raised £93.50; Wirral raised £88.
Ambulance care assistants and control staff at NSL’s patient transport services in Derbyshire held a coffee morning in Bolsover, raising £226, and in Exeter in Devon £120.
Parking staff working on behalf of Birmingham City Council chose scarified cakes to undergo a 5k fun run instead with money still being counted.
Staff at NSL’s head office in London raised over £100 through the sale of a range of baked goods.
NSL chose Macmillan as its charity of the year for 2014 following an overwhelming company-wide vote. The previous charity of the year was Shelter, the bad housing and homelessness charity.
