VolkerHighways selected NSL’s Project Centre to support them in the successful award of the new highways maintenance contract with Medway Council, worth approximately £9 million a year. The new contract will begin on 1 August 2017 and run for five years, with possible extensions of up to five further years.
The new contract comprises both planned and responsive maintenance, including carriageway and footway resurfacing, winter maintenance, drainage cleansing and road markings, as well as professional services. The contract will also include work on Medway’s street lighting as well as capital schemes to improve and enhance the council’s existing network.
Project Centre already have a strong track record in Medway and are currently designing and delivering major projects including Strood Town Centre and Chatham Placemaking.
