NSL has helped Manchester City Council to prosecute and take action on motorists who have fraudulently used Blue Badges, which are meant only for disabled people.
Last Thursday, the Manchester Evening News highlighted that Blue Badge prosecution has reached a record number of five hundred. This is attributed to NSL’s enforcement team, which has been cracking down on the fraudulent users since 2008. The enforcement team caught their 500th offender and ensured full justice was served.
In the team’s five hundredth court case, the offender, Cecilia Kit Y Fung was caught using the badge of a disabled person who was not being transported. Fung was ordered to pay the court £419.89 for costs and victim surcharge.
This is a landmark achievement in the effort to tackle those individuals who misuse the blue badge system.
Andrew Baker, NSL’s Client Account Manager, said: “Our dedicated blue badge team conducts compliance checks throughout Manchester and produce case files for prosecution. Well done to the team for catching five hundred abusers, the results bears testament to the importance of our blue badge enforcement officers.”
