NSL chosen for new six year Westminster deal
NSL - the UK's leading on street parking company, has retained its contract with Westminster City Council.
The new deal, for four years with an option to extend to six, goes live on July 1, with a total contract value in excess of £37 million.
NSL has worked with Westminster since 2003 delivering on street parking management across the central London borough, which as a parking operation is often described as the biggest in Europe.
The new contract will see NSL delivering new innovations to make the service more customer-friendly, with new developments to be rolled out over the first few months of the contract.
“Westminster has always been very proactive in improving standards and moving the parking industry forward, and it came as no surprise to us that they expected the same of us. The new contract requires some very innovative solution from us - and we are delighted to accept the challenge,” commented chief executive Mark Underwood.
Cllr Lee Rowley, Westminster's cabinet member for parking and transportation, said: "This new contract is a very good deal for local taxpayers with multi-million pound savings over the next four years.
"In addition, we will be the first local authority in the country to start working on compliance levels in an attempt to get motorists to park better and stop inconveniencing the vast majority of motorists in the city who park correctly.
"We have pioneered new parking policies to make it easier for motorists to park in Westminster and we look forward to delivering this new approach to managing our streets."
The Westminster win is the latest in a series of high profile contract wins or retentions by NSL, including London contracts retained in Camden, Enfield and Waltham Forest, new London operations in Ealing, Bexley and Tower Hamlets, and a new operation in Cambridgeshire.
