Board Appointments at NCP services
NCP Services announces the appointment of Mark Underwood as Chief Executive.
Mark joins the company from the Geo Group, where he was President of International Services at the outsourced service provider working with prison, detention and numerous government agencies within the UK, South Africa & Australia. Mark has extensive experience in the management of complex organisations and in the provision of outsourced services to government agencies with a particular focus on the United Kingdom.
He was also employed as Managing Director of Reliance Secure Task Management responsible for the provision of outsourced and BPO managed services to major government agencies, including, the Home Office, National Offender Management Service, United Kingdom Border Agency, Criminal Justice, Police Service and the NHS.
Previously he was responsible for complex international BPO businesses with operations across Europe and Asia as Managing Director for the Astron Group and as Director of Outsourcing-Managed Services for Digital Equipment Corporation-Compaq Computer Ltd.
“I am incredibly excited by the challenge of working for NCP Services,” commented Mark.
“The business has an enviable record of successful growth, and very committed major shareholder in 3i, which is keen to help us continue that growth.”
NCP Services is the UK market leader in parking enforcement, and also runs services including debt recovery, urban planning and design,, airport services and BPO outsourcing.
The group was demerged from the NCP car parks group in March 2007 - when the car parks operation was sold to Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund II, and is now a standalone business.
“The business has shown remarkable growth - the division which is now NCP Services was established in 2000 and eight years later employs around 4,500 people,” said Mark.
“I believe there is huge potential to take today's successful model and deliver a broader range of services. We are in a very challenging marketplace, and our clients are largely public authorities who are rightly focussed on getting best value from their contractors.
“We have become the market leader in parking enforcement by providing an unbeatable quality of service and I believe there is a lesson for us here in the broader services market.”
Mark is joined on the board by a new Non Executive Chairman, Mike Jeffries.
Mike was previously chairman of the NCP group, stepping down after the companies were split in March 2007. He replaces Bob Macnaughton, who will remain with the business as a non-executive director.
Mike gained 30 years of experience at WS Atkins, the professional, technology-based consultancy and support services company, where he held senior positions including Chairman and Chief Executive. He is a member of the board of the VT Group, the support services and ship building company, and was previously chairman of Wembley Stadium Ltd.
He commented: “I am delighted to renew my association with NCP Services, and especially pleased that we have Mark Underwood on board. The company works in a difficult and challenging market, but I am confident the future is bright”
