The London Borough of Wandsworth has broadened its partnership contract with NSL to cover all areas of on- and off-street civil enforcement. The contract includes for the first time management of the authority’s CCTV control centre. NSL will also assist the council to increase digital transactions helping to improve the customer journey and the parking environment. The new five year £14.5m contract is the latest in a series of business wins for NSL including a new 12 year £65million partnership with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

The new contract with The London Borough of Wandsworth builds on NSL’s provision of vehicle removal and relocation services over the past eight years and will provide the Council with annual savings in excess of half a million pounds during the five year contract term. It will feature the adoption of a new business intelligence and data analytics solution to target enforcement activities and improve deployment efficiency. The introduction of an innovation forum will also deliver service improvements, supported by a concerted programme to capitalise on new digital enforcement capabilities.
The services will cover all on- and off-street enforcement (including the borough’s many housing estates), the monitoring and reporting of signage and machine faults and any unauthorised use of parking spaces. It will also see NSL take over responsibility for the suspensions service and management of all of the Council’s fixed and mobile CCTV resources.
According Cllr Jonathan Cook, transport spokesman for the London Borough of Wandsworth, the new contract with NSL will deliver new efficiencies, new ways of working and better value for money for local taxpayers. “NSL’s experience and innovative practices across more than fifty civil parking enforcement contracts will be invaluable,” he says. “We will also be benefitting from the company’s significant footprint in the capital, its pioneering work with other London boroughs and the resource efficiencies derived from the work of its Regional Operations Centre. What’s more, the continued roll out of virtual permits as well as comprehensive
cashless and ticketless parking solutions right across the borough will improve convenience and accessibility for our residents, businesses and visitors.”
The company also has long term contracts with many other London boroughs, including Westminster, Camden, Islington, Haringey, Tower Hamlets and Barnet.
